Sterngrove Festival, San Francisco, California
My band and I did this festival with Hiroshima. It was a bit cold, but a lot of fun. Hiroshima is a very hip, happening and cool band!

Waikiki Aquarium, Honolulu, Hawaii
This was the first time my band (formerly Kilauea) performed in Hawaii since it was founded in 1990. It was also the first time my father had seen me perform in over a decade. Needless to say, it was a very special event for me! Lehua Kalima sang Simple as a Sunrise, a song we wrote for NaLeo's I Miss You, My Hawaii CD. Jake Shimabukuro and I debuted an original slack key/ukulele piece we wrote the week before. Hope Sato sang Forever Yours, a piece we also wrote a week prior. Lina Girl sang Smile, a track from Brigette Bryant's Lessons in Life CD, Sam, Lina Girl and Jake jammed Along for the Ride with the band, Kamalani Ho danced to Simple as a Sunrise and Smile, and of course the band (Jimmy Mahlis, Dean Taba, Andy Suzuki, and Randy Drake) did a few of their Kilauea tunes as well. It was a sold out show played before a beautiful, setting sun!

August 17 & 18, 2000
World Expo, Hannover, Germany
Cyril Pahinui, Led Kaapana, George Kahumoku, Jr. and I had a great time playing Hawaiian slack key guitar for these unsuspecting folks at the World Expo! I brought my scooter and zipped around Hannover and the Expo for 3 days. Quite an experience!
